It was the desire of Shri Shantiswaroopdasji Swami rendering his services as the Mahant Swami of Shri Swaminarayan temple, Mahuva, to construct Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul complex at Nesvad village of Mahuva taluka. His desire to have a Gurukul in such an area where infrastructure for education has yet not developed and students are not having qualitative education. To fulfill his desire, the devotee Shri Narayanbhai Rathod donated his house situated at Nesvad to Swamiji for Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul and thereby the foundation for the Gurukul was laid down.

The main objective of Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul is to nurture education, service and Samskaras i.e. noble qualities. When the future of the child is getting lost in the darkness of the Western culture, it is the noble aim of Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul, Nesvad, to build strong personalities for nation building, to prepare citizens who are ready to render their services for the nation with an aim to impart higher and qualitative education in them and thereby to lead the society in the right direction.

The institute started a primary school from standard 1 to 4 in the year 1997 and gradually started secondary education in the year 2000, students were encouraged to take interest in education. By erecting an educational complex imparting education upto standard 10, excellent arrangement for education is made available to the people of Nesvad and nearby villages.

The vision of Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul, Nesvad is always in the direction of expanding the purview of its services considering the demand of the time. Without any huge grant or donation from any other institute, Swami Shantiswaroopdasji has been handling the administration of the institute very efficiently.

Besides education, various co-curricular activities like Hindi examination, Gandhi-Darshan examination, Talent Test, Drawing examination, examination testing knowledge about Indian culture are also held.

Tremendous energies are lying hidden in the children and to inculcate and develop these energies training for various arts like Karate, Music, Nritya (Dance), Yoga etc. is imparted to the students. Every year educational tour is also arranged by the institute. All these activities aimed at overall development of the students are undertaken under constant supervision and guidance of the trained teachers and the saints.

The real meaning of ‘Education’ means to uncover the real powers lying hidden in the children. Education of hard work, co-operation, discipline, determination and concept of welfare to the society is real education.

Various programmes arranged by the institute are very touchy and heartening. The students of the institute obtain applause of the audience by exhibiting their skill and talents during the culture programmes of the institute.  National and religious festivals are celebrated in a colourful way.

The institute has been making sincere efforts to build such a foundation of character through education by which students can remove all the obstacles of life which they come across and can inspire themselves for progress and development in their life.

Under the guidance of Swamiji, the institute also arranges blood test and other medical camps for the students.

Considering the above lines, the institute is determined to impart the best and sustainable education to the students. The institute has developed on its own the facilities of eleven classes, spacious office, and computer education from standard 3 to 10. The institute is at work to have its own science laboratory, a huge library and its own vehicle (bus) service for the students of the nearby villages.

Proper guidance, integrity, discipline, co-operation, hard work of the institute, which is devoted completely to ‘Education and Samskaras’, are eye capturing.  Managing Trustee Shri Shantiswaroopdasji and members of the Trust Kothari Swami Devprasaddasji, Kothari Swami Bhakticharandasji etc saints and the devotees Shri Ramsuddinbhai Chatariya, Shri Narayanbhai Rathod and the whole education-family of the Gurukul are putting in their sincere efforts to spread the fragrance of education of the Gurukul.
